Restograph Testing and Visual Assessments

Fernoak Tree Surgeons Ltd are able to carry out these non-destructive tests to evaluate the internal structural physiological condition of trees that are showing signs of decay or exhibit problems from fungal fruiting bodies.

There are numerous fungal species such as Armillaria mellea (Honey Fungus, Bootlace Fungus), Ganoderma resinaceum, Meripilus giganteus (Giant polypore), Phaeolus schweinitzii (Dyer's mazegill), Sparassis crispa (Cauliflower fungus) and many more species. These have a detrimental effect on a tree's health leading to its progressive decline and death.

This non-evasive test can establish the extent of any decay and whether there are internal cavities that will lead to the tree becoming a threat to properties or cause injury to the person by clearly appraising the overall health of the tree before it becomes a serious problem. Often the affected trees are ignored until strong winds make them unstable because their internal structural strength has been reduced significantly causing them to fall without warning.
